Remembering

How your memory works

You forget fast at first and then more slowly. If you pull something back out of your memory in time, you lift it again each time and keep it longer.

all grades10 to 18 yearsDraft: Not yet checked by a teacher or pupil counsellor.

Why

Yesterday you knew your French words perfectly. Today in the test half of them are gone. How can that be, and what can you do about it?

Forgetting is not a sign that you are stupid. It is simply how memory works: what you stop using fades. It happens to everyone, your teacher included.

The good news: you can be smart about it. If you know how forgetting goes, you can review at the right moment and get much more out of the same study time.
