Taking notes
In class, write briefly and in your own words. With a sheet in three zones, notes, questions and a summary, your notebook becomes a study tool straight away.
Why
In class, Yusuf writes down everything the teacher says. His hand is tired, but at home he no longer understands his own notes. What is going wrong?
If you try to write everything down word for word, you have no time left to listen and think. You become a copying machine, and you have not really worked through what you write.
Good notes are short, in your own words and well ordered. So you have to choose what is important, and that very choosing helps you remember.
Notes are also only the beginning. If you look at them again the same day and add questions, you straight away have a way to test yourself later.
